It’s a Mystery…

Saints VisitOn Thursday 28th January Talent Match Northants kicked off its Mystery Tours programme with a trip to the Northampton Saints Rugby ground; with the aim of informing and educating about different job sectors in our area.

Sixteen young people gathered together on a coach with no knowledge of their destination, anticipating what was to come, and they weren’t disappointed!

Dressing RoomThe tour lasted almost two hours and incorporated a visit to the director’s lounge, a chance to sit in the stands, a pitch-side walk and access to the Saints changing rooms; which was set up ready for the upcoming match the next day.

At the end, Matt, who provided the tour, gave an insight into all the different job roles that people do at the Saints, from ground maintenance and bar tenders to media communications and physical therapy.

PitchsideThe day was enjoyed by all with some of the young people pleasantly surprised by what they learned.

Emily, who had little interest in rugby before the trip, had this to say afterwards;

Had the most amazing time ever yesterday touring the Saints grounds never been into rugby but was really informative and good to see an inside view off the whole ground so thank you Talent Match for arranging such an amazing day out’.

 We are now in the process of arranging the next excursion in our series of Mystery Tours, and expect it to be as enjoyable and informative as this one.
