Photography Shoot with Screen Northants

As part of our Mystery Tour programme, on Wednesday 5th October young people from Talent Match were given the opportunity to join Screen Northants and assist them with a photography shoot for one of their projects.

Taking notesScreen Northants is a local, community based organisation whose aim is to provide young people from all backgrounds with experience within the film industry. You can find out more on their website: Screen Northants.

On this occasion, Talent Match was assisting them with a project to catalogue sites across Northamptonshire that could be used as set locations for filming. In this circumstance the group had the task of photographing Canon’s Ashby, an old Elizabethan Manor House.

The day consisted of moving around various rooms inside the house and exploring the gardens outside to capture the best images they could, which will eventually be uploaded to the database.

The young people were given an insight into the film industry by Becky Adams, who runs Screen Northants and oversaw the shoot on the day. As well as showing how to use the cameras and explain how to take the perfect photograph, she also explained the various roles available within such a massive industry.

Once the shoot had finished, Becky informed them about the projects they are working on and any opportunities to get involved. This resulted in two of our young people working as make up artists for a day on a short horror film.
