Weatherbys are proud to support local project Talent Match. They work exceptionally hard with young people, who face barriers in gaining the skills needed to break into the workplace.

By providing workplace visits, young people have been able to experience the environment, atmosphere and expectations of an employer, as well as learn about a business, it’s set up and what being an employee involves.

Work experience opportunities have allowed some excellent young people learn key skills and gain in confidence in their abilities.

Being on Talent Match has been a different experience to anything else I have tried. They are not all about finding a job, they can help you to get skills you need and can help you to socialise with people from different backgrounds.

I have found some amazing opportunities that have lead me to paid work and built my confidence for me to believe I can do the things needed in the required jobs I want to go for.

They gave me different ways of applying and seeking for jobs that I have never been told before instead of the ways I already knew. I am grateful for where I am today due to Talent Match but they also remind you that even though they help, you are the one who makes it happen and you should take all the credit for that. They also never let you give up your dreams. My dream is to be a writer and through that they got me in touch with a writers group which has helped me gain the information I need to become just that.
