We’re delighted to report that our project continues to exceed its targets and innovate!

This month we have started working with the Media Trust. So we can access free film/media mentoring for the young people involved in our challenge group activities.
We’re hoping this will enable us to produce a Talent Match film that will be will be created by the young people involved. Working with the Media Trust means we can offer young people places at a Media Masterclass, taking place at the BBC Studios in London.
This month we also visited the UK Skills Show at the NEC and you can read all about it in our special report.

Employer engagement continues to be a very high priority. We will soon be offering work placements and paid work through our partners. We are continuing build up interest amongst local employers who are showing an interest in the project. We aim to develop more in-depth partnership working over coming months,eg working with Curtis Instruments to facilitate ‘taster days’ into the world of work and business next month.

The ‘Employer Pledge’ concept is in its final stages of refinement. A certificate is being designed which will be presented to employers engaged with the programme and committed to opportunities for local young people.
