BBC Masterclass

Over the last two Thursdays (20th and 27th November) Gemma and Kirby, two young people working with Talent Match Northants, had the opportunity to go to the BBC in London, which was organised by the Media Trust.

The feedback received has been brilliant and the two that attended found it extremely rewarding. We received this quote from Gemma:

“Had such a great time Gemmaat the BBC Media Masterclass and working with the Media Trust, shame it’s over! I’ve met so many lovely people and it was such an amazing experience! All the hard work I did paid off and MY GROUP WON THE PITCH!

I got rather emotional when I found out we had won, getting huge compliments about my confidence, pitching and leadership skills was amazing. It was completely out of my comfort zone, but I proved to myself that I CAN do these things! It meant so much to me, especially after all the issues I’ve faced over the years. I need to have more faith in myself, because this proves I really can do anything if I put my mind to it.

I cannot say how much I enjoyed it and I’m so thankful that the Talent Match Northants team pushed me to go for it, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity if it wasn’t for them. I can truly say that it has been a life changing experience for me. I also never thought in a million years, that I would have been taken aside by the event organiser and a top BBC producer to praise me for my bravery and how ‘talented’ I am.

I’m so proud of myself for making what was such a huge personal/emotional leap, but even more importantly, it was a pleasure to work with everyone, who were so supportive and make new friends!”

Hearing news stories like this really makes the work we’re doing at Talent Match Northants feel even more worthwhile.

And we would like to say an additional well done to Gemma and Kirby!
